Website Delta Electrical and Controls Inc

About the Role
As an Installer I (Electrical Helper), you will work under the guidance of experienced installers to
help implement building automation control systems in commercial facilities. This means
hands-on work in the field helping to run wiring and install equipment that make buildings
smarter and more efficient. You’ll be working on active construction sites around the Dallas–Fort
Worth area – sometimes on rooftops or in crawl spaces, sometimes in new construction
environments – gaining real-world experience every day. It’s a physically active job that will keep
you on your feet and constantly learning new skills in electrical installation and controls.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will assist our team with a variety of installation tasks, including:
● Pulling Wire & Cable: Pull plenum-rated electrical cable efficiently throughout buildings
according to the project plans and the lead installer’s direction.
● Installing Panels & Devices: Assist in installing and mounting control panels, sensors,
and other electronic devices for the BAS. You’ll help connect wires and ensure
everything is set up per specifications.
● Conduit Installation: Work with your lead or supervisor to install conduit neatly and
safely, sometimes bending and routing conduit as needed.
● Jobsite Safety & Cleanup: Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times. This
includes keeping pathways clear of debris, following all safety protocols, and helping to
ensure tools and materials are used properly. Practicing jobsite safety on every task is a
crucial part of the job.
● Tools & Materials Management: Support the team by bringing required tools, ladders,
and materials to the work area as needed. At the end of each shift, make sure all
company-provided tools and equipment are organized, accounted for, and stored
securely. Keeping the workspace and tool area tidy is an important responsibility.

Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
● Education/Training: You are a recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate of an Electrical,
HVAC, Building Automation Systems, or related technical program. (Candidates with
equivalent hands-on experience in electrical or low-voltage work are also welcome.)
● Basic Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical systems or HVAC controls from your
coursework or experience. You know how to safely use common hand and power tools.
(Any experience with low-voltage wiring or control systems is a plus.)
● Safety Awareness: You prioritize safety and will follow established guidelines (wearing
PPE, proper tool use, etc.). An OSHA 10 safety certification or other safety training is a
big plus (but not required).
● Physical Ability: Willing and able to work in physically active environments. You’re
comfortable working at heights (on ladders or rooftops) and in confined spaces (crawl
spaces). The job will involve lifting, bending, pulling cables, and climbing ladders
regularly, so you should be physically fit to handle these tasks safely.
● Attention to Detail: You have a good eye for detail and take pride in doing neat, careful
work. This is important because the controls equipment we install can be sophisticated
and sensitive.
● Team Player: Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you can follow directions,
ask questions, and work well with a crew. You are eager to learn, reliable in showing up
on time, and you work with integrity and a positive attitude.
● Transportation: You have reliable transportation to travel to various job sites around the
DFW metroplex. (Most work is local to DFW, but occasionally we have projects out of
town – in those cases, Delta covers travel expenses like fuel or lodging as needed.)
