We are seeking a skilled and reliable Residential HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Technician to join our team. As a Residential HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of residential HVAC systems. Your expertise in diagnosing and resolving HVAC-related issues will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers in their homes.

Responsibilities:

Install residential HVAC systems: Perform installation of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in residential properties, including furnaces, air conditioning units, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, and related components, ensuring compliance with local building codes and manufacturer guidelines.

Conduct routine maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems to optimize their performance, prevent breakdowns, and extend their lifespan. This includes cleaning coils, replacing filters, lubricating motors, checking electrical connections, and inspecting overall system functionality.

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues: Inspect and assess HVAC systems to identify malfunctions, defects, or inefficiencies. Utilize diagnostic tools, gauges, and meters to diagnose problems accurately and propose appropriate repair solutions.

Repair and replace components: Repair or replace defective or damaged components, such as motors, fans, belts, compressors, valves, thermostats, and control boards. Ensure all replacements are of appropriate quality and compatible with the system.

Perform system testing: Conduct system tests and adjustments after repairs or installations to verify proper operation and optimal performance. Monitor system parameters, temperature differentials, and pressures to ensure compliance with specifications.

Provide exceptional customer service: Communicate with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their concerns and answering their questions. Educate customers on the operation and maintenance of their HVAC systems, providing recommendations for energy efficiency and system enhancements.

Maintain accurate records: Document all service and repair activities, including parts used, labor performed, and system status, in service reports and maintenance logs. Keep inventory of necessary tools, equipment, and replacement parts.

Adhere to safety standards: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while working with HVAC systems, electrical components, refrigerants, and potentially hazardous materials. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements:

Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Familiarity with different types of systems, such as forced air, radiant, geothermal, and ductless, is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Residential HVAC Technician or similar role, with a proven track record of successfully diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems. Experience in installation is a plus.

Certifications and licenses: Possession of relevant certifications, such as EPA 608 Universal certification, is required. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are necessary.

Physical fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, working in tight spaces, and standing or kneeling for extended periods. Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to work, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks. Ability to follow instructions, interpret technical manuals, and maintain detailed records.

Time management: Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines.
