We have an immediate opening for an HVAC Installation Helper to install HVAC systems in new construction commercial buildings. As an HVAC Installer, you will travel to our client’s properties, install new HVAC units and associated components, and install walk-in coolers and associated components. You will inspect and ensure that the new systems work efficiently. The HVAC Installer will also be involved in fabricating square ductwork for projects.

To be a successful HVAC helper, you will need excellent listening and problem-solving skills and be respectful. You will work with lead installers who will train you on SMS’s preferred installation methods. You will be expected to learn these methods and carry them out accordingly. Your essential duty is to install new HVAC systems, walk-in coolers, ventilation hoods, and other HVAC/R-related components to customer specifications as indicated on the blueprints.

HVAC Helper Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Pick up and deliver components, tools, materials, and supplies to and from the job site.

·         Assist in installing the ventilation, air conditioning systems, and equipment including walk-in coolers and Hoods.

* Assist in fabricating and installing ductwork
* Maintaining a detailed inventory of all HVAC equipment and resources
* Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
* Participate in all technical training
* Comply with installation standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements
* Learn advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating

HVAC Helper Requirements:

* Familiarity with all tools and equipment necessary for HVAC installation and maintenance
* High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalently
* Ability to follow directions
* Ability to work in confined spaces
* Ability to operate scissor lifts, forklifts, and other small equipment
* Ability to work on ladders
* Reliable and self-motivated
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to travel
* Ability to work 40+ hours per week
